Hi Tony, The patent is the 'Method of Determining, Identifying or Isolating Cell-Penetrating Peptides'. In fact as it turns out SOT provided a link in an earlier thread but I was unaware of its significance at the time.
The filing date for the patent is particularly interesting: May 23, 2011. What else happened on that date? Well, Phylogica announced on the very same day the extension of its collaboration with Roche to evaluate the potential for phylomer delivery across the BBB. Obviously, it wasn't coincidental and suggests that the announcement may have been delayed until the patent was filed. Perhaps this is normal practice in biotechnology circles.
I am trying to understand the significance of the patent in terms of Phylogica having granted Roche an option on that day to license a specific Phylomer peptide. It may not be a long wait to find out as we are anticipating imminent news about BEN_5000.
