Lappy there's a very interesting article in a certain West Australian newspaper.
Selling the Farm
"The government obviously thinks we'll be eating iron ore in 20 years.Could be a bit hard to chew"
Lappy the stark reality is,that the old farming families are selling up. Who wants to work seven days a week?. IMHO there will only be one interested group in this new food bowl the Chinese. The Ord redevelopment where col leased the land to the Chinese for fifty years, where upon he said,"we will not get a return on this deal",says it all. Apology's to the women concerned(marron farmer)Ive forgotten her name, she was on Paul Murrays radio show 6pr yesterday. From ten years ago, theres been a 60 percent drop in wheat growers. As the current state of play stands, there was only one person interested in the plight of farmers and indeed manufacturer's,Rudd. Just as a ever appreciating dollar cruel s ,manufacturers,so it does with the agricultural industry.
The MRRT was to have a twofold effect, one insure miners actually paid some tax,but just as importantly if not more so,was the effect of taking the heat out of the Australian dollar, thus making manufacturing and agricultural products more competitive.
I put it to you Lappy and any other intelligent person capable of independent thought, given the massive amounts of mining dollars pouring into liberal party coffers, there's no way in hell our dollar will fall, near term midterm or indeed long term. Should this development get up ,we will be effectively spitting in the wind, while having failed to address core reasons for the malaise in both the manufacturing and agricultural sectors.
