He made the statement under pressure simply to appease supporters and has of course has backed off somewhat since then with some fuzzy rhetoric, but that in itself is just a demonstration of the type of leader he'd make. Malaysia would descend into anarchy if the three discordant opposition parties gained power under his tenuous leadership.
