I treat estimated costs of production until gold is being consistently poured as best case scenarios. No one knows what the actual cost of production will actually be. I'm sure the earlier companies who mined the tenements had figures that showed strong positive cashflow as well. Things don't always pan out as projections suggest. This is where the risk reward comes into play.
