The reglulatory process for takeovers in aust is a bit of joke.In the U.K the suitor must first approach the board to gauge sentiment on what a suitable figure might be, they also need to be able to demonstrate ability to finance the deal only then will they get access to the data.
Once a offer is then made the process can then be settled in a timely fashion having all the ducks lined up in a row.
In our case we have had a non binding offer on the table for nearly a year and it would appear we are no closer to a deal being presented than we were 12 months ago.
In the mean time the market ignores the fundamentals with movement of sp hanging squarely on takeover news or in our case lack of.
