I think what has added to the problem of getting a resolution on Andash is the continued infighting within Parliament and media coverage over the State's Commission report on Kumtor (2009 Agreement). It seems fairly obvious that the report was born from an underlying nationalistic ideology that is not only represented in Parliament but amongst a cross section of the lower socio-economic population. What I believe is also obvious is that the Executive Government supports Centerra and progress on the development of mining. When the dust around Kumtor settles we will see progress on Andash. Let’s hope Murchison doesn’t break the bank in the mean time!
