History - in 2001 QBE was $11+. After 9/11 it fell to below $6 and took 3 years to get back to its peak. Four years later it was $30+ and held there until early 2008. Since then it has been hit by the GFC and several large catastrophe years.
The future - who knows? My view is that a few 'normal' catastrophe years will see it back above $20 with the prospect of going higher. One thing these bad years has done is allow premium increases, which should be of great value if and when we get back to 'normal' years. If we get a series of benigh claim years then there will be premium competition and a difficulty in further improvements.
