Robbb, I think you make a very good point. Also, I think the nature of this (the XJO) forum is relevant here as well. My take on this forum, which I havent contributed much to but which I read often is that the essence here is of a very technical nature. I think a comp which requires reasoning with the entries would be a good fit with the nature of this forum compared to one which only requires guesses. Mind you, if guesses are allowed, entires which provide reasoning that do well will certainly command more respect and credibility than winning entries that are just guesses.
