interesting discussion, charts vs fundamentals for discovery stocks...

for me, stocks defy charts in 'breakouts' and thats why they are called 'breakouts'...

ICG is most likely going through a breakout for fundamental reasons... i.e. it has a new discovery

if any of the chartists in hear can go back to retrospectively explain the SIR breaktout and how the charts were able to give leading indicators for buying, selling, target prices etc, id be very interested to read it...

for me, cases like SIR are exceptions where charts are basically useless until a point where the stock has a trading history and patterns have developed... SIR was driven by drilling results, information on who was buying and technical knowledge about the discovery's potential would have been more useful than charts...
