CSR Ethanol welcomes fans of the Toyota Cowboys

CSR Ethanol, makers of Ethanol the fuel that never runs out, is proud to be a ‘Supporter’ of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys, for season 2005.

With our enthusiastic support, we hope to be able to help the club achieve their sporting triumphs, whilst educating all those associated with the club about the environmental, social, and financial benefits of ethanol blended petrol.

    A Cleaner, Greener Fuel

We believe in ‘Ethanol the fuel that never runs out’ because it is a renewable, environmentally friendly fuel source for the future. We turn Molasses into ethanol, and by adding just 10% ethanol to petrol, major oil companies and independent distributors produce E10. Every litre of Ethanol in petrol means that we use one less litre of petrol made from non-renewable crude oil.

E10 increases the amount of oxygen used in the fuel combustion process by raising octane levels. This means there is a cleaner more efficient burn, which reduces the amount of carbon monoxide that is formed by 30-40%. By using E10 in your cars, you can help reduce the production of greenhouse gases that are causing climate change. Research has shown that 1,000 litres of ethanol in a 10% mix with 10,000 litres of unleaded petrol will lead to a decrease in carbon emissions by up to 1.58 tonnes.

How using Ethanol can really pay off!

Financially speaking, if we were to add a mere 2% ethanol to all the oil that we import, Australia would reduce its balance of payments deficit by nearly $150 million dollars. The ethanol fuel market is well established overseas and we are in a prime position to advocate change for the better in Australia.

Historically there have been some critics of ethanol based fuels because of blend ratios of greater than 10% in unleaded fuels. CSR Ethanol is proud to be associated with a variety of quality fuel suppliers in Queensland now offering a range of ethanol blended products that all meet Australian Fuel Quality Standards.

Today there are nearly 50 sites in Qld that supply ethanol blended fuel made with CSR ethanol and we are keen to see this grow so that more consumers become aware of the quality of these ethanol blended products, and the wide range of benefits ethanol provides to Queensland and Australia.

By using ethanol blended fuels we not only benefit our environment, we also help to create jobs and provide new business opportunities for the Queensland Ethanol Industry.

    Our Ethanol Heritage

CSR first started as the Colonial Sugar Refineries in 1855 and began distilling ethanol from molasses in the early 1900’s. Since then we have become Australia’s premier supplier of quality ethanol. Our success is due to the professionalism and dedication of our staff, the quality of our product range, and the continued support of our valued customers. We are passionate about our product, but we are even more passionate about our customers.
