Sid, I think the Board must be on the same level of frustration as all of us. The question the Board would ask itself is:
1. What is the consequence of us pulling the pin from the perspective of Cameroon and Congo. Would they back it? Would it allow a non chinese counterbidder in? Are there any around?
2. What does that mean for advancing the project. Is there a viable alternative. Will the Convention run out by the time an alternate financing arrangement is in place.
Remember that negotiations are a moving feast and in the absence of competitive tension, it will always be a tough battle.
This is an NDRC game now - and about African sentiment.
