Quite simply, most Isralies being intelligent people would prefer to live in peace.
But at the same time they realize that peace with their neighbours who hate them is an impossible dream.
Therefore they need a strong government who will do what it takes to protect them from attack.
There is no possible peaceful solution in that region of the world.
All talk is a waste of time.
