sypaladin, I seem to remember a time when those "weak minded kids" could party and drink to excess and then when they were ready to settle down, get a simple job with enough security to buy a simple home and lead a simple life with most of the simple comforts. Now, the lower strata has lost job security, houses are unaffordable and the simple life is a struggle for many.
All the while, though, anger festers under the surface. Whether it comes from financial stress, class/status envy or family problems doesn't matter. When people live in stressful conditions with less hope of a better future, many get angry.
My generation differed greatly from our parents in music and fashion, but not in morals, manners, respect and empathy. Those 4 words are now relics of the past.
