Just like a stop loss (stop gain) is useful for longs, definitely useful for shorts too...
Separately though, massive volumes on each notch on the sell side stack this morning! I have no doubt the trend has turned (or is about to) but it will take a bit of time.
Time however, now is on our side not against us. Might be topping up more shortly.
