The Lexus LS 460 which you have stated is $203.500 in Australia and in the USA is $71,990

This is rather more than the 30% difference that you mentioned

In your schedule you have costs of $43,500 as shipping and government costs of which the government takes about $41,500 of this.

I do not know what the government take is in the USA but obviously it is far less than what the Australia government creams off the top.

As to the ADR costs this is also a furphy that Australian retailers, importers bring out all the time and it is just rubbish.

It can explain a 20% difference maybe, a price in Australia of about 3 times more expensive can not be justified

It still comes down to the fact the cars are this price because the importers can get away with it, they can charge what they like.
