Rabbitoh that is very much a hardlined view & not how it stands in all places but obviously as the media portrays it that way & focus attention as such then thats how you develop your view. You can find hardlined extremist practices in almost all religions christianity sure isn't with out it's faults either look at the sexual issues within churches.

I have extended family that our muslims but are nothing like all this dribble that's been written (and the county of origin is not one of those that is constantly refered to here - children are now 3rd generation Australians) they are actually some of the most peaceful, kind & intelligent people i know on the other hand i went to a catholic private school & my mother worked in the catholic education department.

FWIW i follow no religion but i do believe there is a higher realm.
