Jon Hronsky is a very experienced geologist who identified the potential of the initial magnetic anomalies as a potential large scale Ni/Cu target.
"A robust geological model that has put the anomalies in a regional and structural context that significantly elevates their prospectivity and identifies them as potentially large-scale Nickel (Ni) + Copper (Cu) Sulfide mineralisation targets."
Hronsky identified the propspectivity of this whole region in 2000 and since then there has been some limited exploration. There is pretty limited information available for this project at this early stage so it is hard to draw conclusions but Hronsky stated this project "is one of the most significant unexplored opportunities for a large scale NiS deposit in Australia." in summarising the outcomes of his geophysical analysis.
I imagine the air survey results will be out in the next fortnight and an update from the US will give a good idea for where Cassini is going in 2013.
