Thank you for your encouragement, I don't get much of that here and have been on the receiving end of a fair amount of vitriol over the years.

The goldbugs thought it was hilarious and gave me a thorough rubbishing for buying TLS at at $2.80, the worm has turned, the goldbugs are scared, there's more than an even chance that the useless metal (which is a very good conductor though) is gonna take a dive.

The America-hating is a subject I've never raised but it has surprised me, goldbugs hated the fact that the employment numbers are encouraging, they'd prefer to see a worse number, they thrive on misery, war and pestilence.

Seat 1A says visit poor areas, there's poor areas everywhere, I spend a lot of time on the West Coast, it all looks good to me, quite normal in fact, but yes there are areas of poverty, nothing new there. San Francisco is awash with tourists, mostly from Europe, the very place that goldbugs have been predicting will plunge into a great depression, and you may have seen my post that the best investment in the world for the last 3 months is Greek stocks, up over 24%. Lufthansa have recently upgauged one of their flights to SFO to an A380.

The worldwide economic catastrophe they've been predicting won't happen and the prognostications of their psychics like Jim Sinclair, Peter Schiff and Mike Maloney are the words of false prophets who make their living selling gold and silver.

The goldbugs say they're the true contrarians, but my forecast is that they'll lose patience with gold, sell out and get into equities just in time for the next correction.

I find Americans pleasant, generous people, I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip.
