A good number of the posts on the Lynas thread are related to the actions of the Malaysian government in granting operating licenses; the protests by SMSL, and the position of potential Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim towards the continuing operation of the Lynas Gebeng plant.
Thus it is important to analyze the potential for Ibrahim's alliance to win the upcoming election. Understanding that the last election was much closer than any in the past and that even in the US, the ruling BNP coalition is coming under pressure should be important to investors in Lynas.
