re: chuck : law council slams howard's scam. No, Chuck, I dont believe the pollies should be allowed to have any control of a trial.
This issue has not been thought out fully and will result in legal quagmires to say the least.

I dont know how the Yanks handle their sensitive trials, but it seems to be done behind closed doors and the defendant always is convicted.( and witnesses probably get topped after testifying, lol.)
But why would a lawyer refuse to get a security clearance? Unless they have something to hide?
    What about the Judge?
He, too, could be a securty risk. We have had the odd judge trolling for boy-sex in a govt car, remember?
Sexual deviants have always been regarded as security risks because of their exposure to potential blackmail.
So the Judge should have a clearance as well.
Remember a little article after the last election involving Beazley? Where ASIO regarded him as a risk and definately not PM material because of his links to certain Indonesian figures? Is Ruddock himself squeaky clean?
I dont know how they are going to handle it, Chuckie, but you can bet they will stuff it up. But if they apply all their security measures we wont know they stuffed it up, will we?

    GZ
