"•Exergen is working with CSIRO to use its ‘Continuous Hydrothermal De-watering’ process to upgrade (and potentially export) coal, and then use this coal as a feedstock into an adapted stationery diesel engine to obtain thermal efficiencies of up to 47%, i.e. a 40% reduction in greenhouse gases compared to other means of burning brown coal. Exergen has filed 14 patent applications in Australia.


•Environmental Clean Technology have developed their Coldry process to dewater and dry brown coal to produce a feedstock in the form of densified pellets, reducing CO2 emissions by up to 14% and facilitating export of the pellets. Coldry have 3 patent applications in Australia."


That's 40% reduction v's 14%, just in case anyone was wondering.
