MASTER spinners FTI Consulting have lost a few good hands of late, but any talk of a walkout is wide of the mark, Diary hears.

Mark it down as "generational change" a source close to the firm has revealed. The latest to leave is Alan Jury, whose departure was announced this week to staff who were told the former AFR journo is the new communications boss at Lynas.

There is talk that the departure of Jim Kelly might also be imminent, but our source stressed he wasn't going anywhere immediately. Apparently there are handcuffs applying to both he and fellow firm founder Ross Thornton, who resigned a few weeks back. Kelly and Thornton sold their FD Third Person to FTI back in 2007.

FTI's revolving door also saw managing director Lauren Thompson leave last year to set up her own firm and former prime ministerial spinner Russell Mahoney join in February
