Freedom of speech is one thing, slander or defamation of someone is not a freedom of speech.

Having an opinion does not constitute that as fact, everyone has rights don't they.
Hearing it from someone else and then assuming it must be right can be an issue.
All people who are employed expect their rights to be protected, if you feel you have been unfairly sacked you have the right to take it to a hearing. We are all happy to have our rights protected aren't we?

So why should Directors be any different, I don't know what has been said in this particular case but I'm confident that if what has been alleged by this women was remotely true then no action would be forth coming. Directors have a right to protect their reputations don't they?
We Shareholders have a right to vote directors on or off the board, not attack them through what most assume are anonymous posts.

If HC would like to set up a fund to help with defending this case, I would be happy to contribute if I could view the offending post or posts. If this lady is being victimized if would certainly contribute, if she is indeed venting out of frustration of doing her money I'm not interested.

I've met the directors and management of companies I've invested in, in one case I promptly sold out at a six figure loss. That turned out to be the right decision as they went bust not long after that, but I have not complained to anyone about my investments in speculative penny stocks.
That's why it is high risk, high reward isn't it. Taking responsibility for your own due diligence and   investment decisions would be a good start, then reading the posting guide lines and adhering to them would eliminate these types of potential court cases.

BTW, I doubt suggest the hiring of someone to inflict bodily harm or worse is helpful to this women's case.
