That's the whole question, isn't it? One man's fair comment is another man's slander.
I am not that convinced that the basis for defamation law is valid. Not saying that a scumbag lawyer won't be able to shake you down, but no one owns their own reputation. Think about it, one's reputation exists in the minds of other people and no one "owns" another's thoughts.
Best solution under the circumstances is to learn how to get around this law, using the legal guidelines that will be posted and to also use code as someone suggested. That way we still have free speech, can say what we like just change the outward form.
