DaveR - the high Aussie $ has hurt some businesses - and all the more reason a carbon tax should not have been added, imo.
The thread title is "carbon tax,the straw that broke the camel's back" It doesn't say it is solely to blame, but surely even you can see, carbon has added much pressure to already pressured businesses.
Our personal electricity bill went from being about 25% higher in the first quarter after carbon tax was introduced (compared to the same quarter the previous year) and the next bill was 50% higher than the same quarter. Same useage and the only signigicant change was carbon tax.
It is an ADDED pressure our Aussie business (or consumers) DON'T need.
