Despite the billions that these power companies are making in selling electricity to users domestically and cross borders, I am amazed that not one, apart from a token donation from K-Coal, has dipped their hand into their pockets in order to sponsor some small part of the commercial development of Coldry, given that carbon pricing is not isolated to only Australia.
These power companies could lose a couple of million here and there on the floor of the pub by the end of the night and not notice it. Steel manufacturers that are ideal for Matmor are perhaps in the same pub at the other end of the bar. Yet for a over a year ECT is scraping around piddling $6m.
Stars are not quite aligning for me yet on this one and the sentiment suggested via the market view of the SP "i.e. in the toilet" also means we have a very long way to go yet.
Before we spin the "dreams" of going "global" I would like to have some "reality" firstly within our little Latrobe Valley.
