I have never been a defender of Julia Gillard's performance as PM but that has nothing to do with her wardrobe and gender!

Gillard's failure to connect with mainstream Australians is all about her stilted and somewhat condescending public communication skills, her failure to rip to shreds Tony Abbott's childish sloganeering and her inability to explain the actions taken while she has been PM.

Abbott in lycra and budgie smugglers did however raise my concerns about what goes on inside his mind.

I would be interested to know exactly what it is about Abbott's personality that impresses you, since in contrast I am often revolted by what I see and hear; from exaggeration to distortion and even gross misrepresentation of reality and squibbing tough interviews ..... I even note that he just took 1h:32m+ to run 14kms - hardly the stuff of an athlete and way slower than what I used to run [and I was but a plodder].
