I'm wondering why a 60 year old Nth Korean General, fully aware of their "true" capabilities, would allow his army to be destroyed in front of his eyes. Not for this young, fat a'hole.
Their Army is their ticket to privilege, without it they struggle like everyone else. Why not a small military coup? I'm sure Washington would rather deal with older pragmatists than a young megalomanic.
I doubt he has been there long enough to have gathered a loyal Palace Guard around him as Saddam did.
