Guys I really appreciate your thought provoking Icon posts. [except for casmack]
So many detailed yet disparate opinions and theories on ICN's current dramas and future prospects.
I reckon the high quality ICN threads are currently the cream of Hotcopper, the pick of the crop. I wish the ICN sp performed equally as well.
I spent a few minutes over Easter break thinking about what the likes of Santos and Chevron and BG group and Total thought about ATP855 and what they valued Icon at?
I could not help but conclude back then that at least the first three co's I mentioned may well be running the ruler over ICN at their approx. $100mill MCap.

That was a week ago and with a ICN MCap now nearly 20% less it makes it even more likely someone big like STO and CVS is doing the sums and maybe asking even more probing questions [than you guys are] directly to Beach geologists and management about Halifax-1 and ATP855.
It makes sense STO and BPT would be talking shop, as STO and BPT are JV partners and the main SACB players.
And regarding CVS talking shop, CVS is soon to be a BPT JV partner there of course.
If CVS was so convinced the Nappamerri Trough is worth investing several hundred million $ in, then an ICN buyout friendly or hostile is not out of the question now.
So an offer by chevron could precede ICN's execution of that 4.9% put on BPT.
