maybe getting all stock back under ones finger tips in case you need to hit the sell button in a hurry?

I wouldn't think it would be an issue to have your stock loaned out to some sucker if the price took off upward, but you simply might not want to own them if the opposition party pulled the pin on your company.

but a more positive and more likely scenario would be that the lender no longer wants to provide any assistance to further downward pressure that could end up leaving their investment vulnerable to a takeover and thus shooting themselves in the foot.
