Hm.. lack of notice is bad form.

However if the changes are needed to ensure you have the most flexible trust deed then the $99 is very reasonable.

Ask an accountant what would they charge for a newly worded trust deed. either they will rehash a standard industry deed, or have to get it agreed with a specialist legal dude - several thousand $, I would have thought.

IMO $99 for a new trust deed is about as cheap as it would get. To operate a low cost fund you need to have all members on the same trust deed, and therefore it must cover all aspects of SIS rules, and give the trustees total flexibility within the rules.

There would be an amount of admin in ensuring all trustees have signed and agreed the trust deed.

I'm sure there is an element of profit involved but the are not making out like bandits at $99 - IMO.

I'm sure you would have signed of to agree to any 'required' trust deed changes, and to have the amount auto deducted from your feeder account.

Of course, should you not have the cash funds to clear this amount... what happens? Does your cash account go overdrawn and thus incur additional fees?

I would have thought 1 months notice would be the go for any ad hoc charges.
