Hi, I am a first time poster although I have been a shareholder in AGO for many years and followed this form for many. I have been disgusted in the market manipulation in recent months with some of the electronic platforms and short selling activities manipulating the share price of companies. Sharing the concern of many of the posts I recently rang AGO and passed on my concerns, which they fully agreed. I then rang ASIC and spoke to an operator who said she had never had a complaint of this nature before and then directed me to the internet to make a complaint.....!!! WOW. So it must be my imagination after all, they are the regulators and they would know. I then rang Commsec as I have been trading with them for more than 20 years and spoke to someone in middle management who supported my concerns and informed me that Commsec does not allow that sort of activity through their platform and it was a great concern to them as they represent small investors and have discussed this issue with the powers to be.
How many investors are being destroyed by these practices, people make comments, the market knows best and will value the stock accordingly. What a load of bull. The market is being manipulated by greedy unseen forces, there is no value given to companies performances. It is just a free for all to the bottom. I know some people will take this as just a whinge but us retail investors should be able to expect a fair playing field. So if you feel the need to ring ASIC and make your own complaint, you never know you might just talk to the same operator and then she will have two complaints! But at the end of the day I don’t think it will make any difference.
