There was a good interview with Simon Hann on ABC Northcoast radio this morning between 8.30 and 9.00 am. Of course the interview has not been posted on the ABC website yet.
When the company suspended its operations, it did state that they would proceed to decommission well sites. According to Mr Hann, the wells that are being decommissioned (17 in total) are exploratory wells and are wells that will not be required in any future development activities. Metgasco is fulfilling its obligations to make good the drill sites from an environmental perspective.
Two wells are being moth-balled/suspended, not decommissioned.
