I touched on running an economy yesterday and it is clear the Abbott supporters here don't understand what an economy and economics is.
Had one reply telling me we should not be spending more than what is earnt, that may seem reasonable from an accounting perspective but not when running an economy.
Take for example buying a home from an accounting perspective it some times doesn't add up, but from an accounting perspective you include the security of it being your our place, not being subject to eviction, decorating and alterations to meet your wants and needs ect.
Having debt is not a bad thing, you can make it work in your favour. Look at australia's debt as a % of GDP and it is more than managable.
