re: hdn to launch t/o for gip ????? As far as I'm concerned, the HDN announcement was well worded and well associated, but means little. It reminds me of GIP's cleverly worded (but badly headed) announcement in early 2002 when the share price more than triple in a couple of hours - my best day trade (because I bothered to read the badly headed announcement).

GIP has bigger resources and cheaper cost structures than HDN. As for GIP being taken over, that's not part of the plan that was laid out years ago and articulated in pre-AIM listing material by the current CEO, who didn't want that to happen until at least the tantalum was being mined.

The EIA was given the official tick for GIP today. Although it was sort of taken care of a long time ago, today's news was always key for me, for one can argue the toss about a (relatively unimportant in the big picture, I've long argued) BFS or whatever, but without an officially approved EIA, there is no project these days in greenfield areas. Related stuff delayed and even stopped companies like CMX in the Philippines for years and helped cause CNT (which ended up losing almost all the claims it originally had before being allowed to resume operations), to get into strife in Egypt. Although the market doesn't care, GIP has scored yet another first today, as pointed out in the announcement.
