There are only ever two serious choices offered. Note the patterns. In more recent times the two have begun to almost coalesce. Two wings of the same bird.

The 'top dog' is little more than a puppet in most instances, however if they veer from the track there are consequences. Notably Abraham Lincoln and JF Kennedy, both of whom attempted to return the power to print money back into the hands of government. Gough Whitlam and Kevin Rudd were both removed from afar.

Politics works well to distract the public into the belief that we have "democracy".

In relation to the original post - Obama does what he has to because he has a lot to hide. He plays a role, but is not the key decision maker. In fact there are 22 levels of security above the US President and this has been the case for a very long time.

Fluoride - if there isn't a problem then why is it banned throughout Europe and in many other countries. Tooth decay and crowded teeth is a function of poor nutrition, not a lack of fluoride. Indigenous people, who have maintained their traditional diets, are rarely found to suffer either problems which are endemic in so-called 'civilized' societies. Further evidence has also been found from the study of ancient skulls where tooth decay is rarely found and the jaws are broad leaving plenty of room for a full complement of teeth.

Fortunately our diets are significantly improved since this was first realised, via the research of Dr. Weston Price, an American dentist who traveled the world at a time when significant numbers of isolated population groups could still be studied. His 1938 publication, 'Nutrition and Physical Degeneration: A Comparison of Primitive and Modern Diets and Their Effects' is available at Amazon today.

It is interesting to note that at the time of his publication he stated that 'white' New Zealand women had the worst teeth in the world followed closely by Australian women. Even as a child I can remember women losing all of their teeth when they were pregnant and seeing children, who lived in poverty, with a mouthful of black, rotten teeth. Hopefully this country will never see a repeat.
