I didn't really think that this subject (if there was anything to it) was likely to have any impact on the POG.

The whole story is nonsense, but debunking it involves exposition of a lot of technical information relating to operational costs and compliance obligations that would bore the socks off everyone.

I think that the story should be allowed to die a peaceful death ...
