If you go back to my original comment, subsidising this is going to be a lot cheaper for the taxpayer than discouraging abortions and having a lot more unwanted kids arriving, which are usually in lower socio economic level girls who are far likely to be welfare dependent than middle class people. And when you look at the cost of a child in welfare long term its going to be far cheaper to subsidise an abortion drug.

So in the pure interest of taxpayers hip pocket this is probably a good idea if you lose all the arguments about its morality.

My own opinion really is irrelevant as abortion is legal in australia and who the hell are we to tell a woman what to do with her own body. We dont have to like it but its a reality.
