    Have you already purchased the fizz? I can not recommend highly enough Brown Brothers NV Pinot Noir Chardonnay (king Valley I think). $20 if you shop around and I would pay double that. Salinger is good but I would go for this personally.

    Sauv Blanc depends on what style you're after. Highly fashionable ATM as we all know along with SSB. Probably can't go too wrong with the well known producers in terms of pleasing people. I'm not a huge fan of the variety myself but that's a personal preference, I like my Sauv Blanc a bit funkier with some barrel ferment complexity.

    Chardonnay has evolved so much in the last decade that it is nothing like the wines that people remember and dislike from the 90s. It's so much more refined, delicate and fresh these days with subtle complexity. I implore people to take a fresh look.
