"...Glug, if a POA is not required, why did a trained lawyer organise one?...doto"

A POA is not needed for the purchase of the property on Blewitt's behalf. But as later requested by Olivia Palmer for the conveyancing and loan, either Blewitt needed to sign the documents himself (which he could have done) or Blewitt needed to authorize someone to do it on his behalf (POA).

(Though there potentially was a different (unrelated to the AWU) fraud being committed that no one has picked up on as yet.)

"...Your view is that getting to the bottom of this is a waste of time and resources and that they should be tracing the money...doto"

The initial complaint that started the current investigation was about the POA (details below), and the media reports appear to only be reporting information about the POA being investigated.

Focusing the investigating on the POA will not bring Wilson and Blewitt to justice.

Of course the POA investigation is politically motivated. Also if the same complaint was made about anyone else regarding a 20 year old POA, nothing would happen, let alone the deployment of police resources to the same levels as what has happened.

Those that took money from the AWU should be pursued if there is genuine concern about the crime.

Charge Wilson and Blewitt, put them in court and then see who else was involved or who helped facilitate the fraud.
