Dorak good thread and you got me thinking about the suject...

I think that a BIG display of DOING the right thing is going to send a stronger message.

Picing some points together from the Q&A show..
Immigration numbers were going up from 10 to 20 thousand..

OK Have a big and Beautiful Cruise ship regularly...say every six months take onboard the say 2000? refugees who have been proceessed correctly and in some sort of orderly manner...

Give them a great reward of this safe cruise and let authorities work towards this regular event...
and we could welcome them accordingly, happily.

I imagine processed refugees arrive randomly, silently and the feeling might not be as upfront or welcoming.

The US ship/crews bringing refugees after WW11 seemed to be celebrated and remembered as heros....
we are not showing ourselves in the best light or loighting up the best path for entry to this country, imo.

Its an idea that would have to have Indonesian support and strict adherance to numbers without causing any scenes for more etc etc...imo

At least there would be something visual and tangible everyone was organising towards ...the cruise with authority and certainty and dignity to be expected and WELCOMED.

Stop talking negative and start showing us all the positive.
