    I don't think this is an oversimplification... but the what the nice debt providers 'get in return' is INTEREST.

    I don't know why some are looking deeper than that at this stage.

    They give PLV a loan, secured over (part of) its assets, and in return, PLV repay principle AND interest.

    Pretty simple.
