re: and so it starts.....the americans are the rea am raeding a book on the operations of the NSA. unbelievable story about the USS Liberty a surviellance navy vessel sitting off the coast of egypt at the outbreak of the 68 arab israeli war. their intercept proved a pre emptive strike by israel who then sent their ambassador in the US to convince pres Johnson to come to their aid as they were under attack by Egypt. aware of the deception the Liberty was under orders to remain in the area and collect whatever they could. what they did collect was irrefuteable evidence of war crimes committed by the israeli armed forces against civilians and enemy soldiers alike. later the IAF discovered this eavesdropper on the doorstep of their crime scene and ordered what any criminal would do when sprung..the destruction of the evidence. israeli aircraft sent to destroy the Liberty and gun boats to finish it off....ie Israeli armed forces launching a deliberate attack against an american naval vessel. Johnsons response? scuttle the boat, threaten the survivors with court martial and imprisonment and cover up the whole story so not to embaress our allies and threaten the jewish vote for the forthcoming elections. after denials the israeli's claimed it was a mistake....big mistake alright. for the naive out there an example of the depths any side will go to in order to achieve their objectives. there is so much deceit and spindoctoring going on, who knows what to believe. the US and any other military force have whole sections devoted to disseminating information critical to upholding their 'rightful 'positions, believe it at your folly.
