    According to wicki.answers $1.00 in 1980 was worth $2.60 today.
    I bought silver circa 1980 for $50.00 an ounce so it should be worth $130.00 an ounce today just keeping up with inflation.Alas 33 years later it is only $24.00 an ounce,but no worries $1000.00 is just around the corner lol.
