Now on the related topic Australia has been a country of migrants. If skin in the game means you trace your roots back 200 years. I can only imagine the devastation that the Aboriginal tribes feel with skin go back at least 40,000 years.

The only thing that prevented isolated Australia and a 40,000 year old culture from not thriving and actually discovering and invading Europe was the simple fact that there was no commercial agricultural crop such as wheat or maize that could sustain a large population base. With fields of wheat or corn the history of the Aboriginals would have been quite different.
