    Negative gearing. Where your hard earned tax dollar is used to push up the price of houses near you. Oh what a feeling to know that.

    Who cares if rents might rise if they cut it out. The prices of rent are already pushing the limit of affordability so rises could not be dramatic. The main thing would be house prices would come down as the tax minimisation club members rush for the exits, allowing many renters to afford a home in an area that doesn't involve driving in a mobile car park for 3 to 4 hours a day.
