re: and so it starts.....the americans are the rea Dave R,

The sentiments attributed to Iraqis ie ""[Iraqi officials are] saying things like 'Move that,' 'Don't be reporting that' and 'Ha! Can you believe they missed that?'" an official said in the Web article. "It's that kind of stuff.""
is apparently verbal therefore unless it's recorded from live spoken conversations (impractical in the extreme) it must be on telephone or wireless including mobile phones). Well it could also be email. Communications technology is my professional expertise.

As for dredging up the traitor line for criticising the US or Australia and claiming critics wouldn't last long in Iraq, well that is stupid.

My country right or wrong? No! If my country is wrong I will speak out. Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom to mouth the party line - that would be like Iraq.

What may be happening is my country getting into another unwinnable fiasco like Vietnam and causing a global destabilisation that may wreck out good reputation and our international trade, as well as casualties of our military, some of whom sent to Iraq I know.

Finally, WW2 was not a victory for the UK but it was for the US. Those who opposed Britain entering the war may have if they had prevailed prevented the catastrophic collapse of the empire in such a ragtag way that sowed the seeds of many of today's conflicts.

If you want to call me a traitor for opposing invasion of another country using our "defence forces" without demonstrable evidence of any REAL threat and without UN resolution, well go ahead but you are emulating Saddam's tactics.
