Hi Hanrahan, Benzoyl Peroxide is a topical effective treatment for P.acnes in sebaceous glands in acne/pimples.
As Alan said it has a peeling action but also an antimicrobial action so probably not ideal but there are other topical antibiotics.

Mine was just a passing comment about the effectivenes of topical acne treatments egErythromycin,Clindamycin, maybe being effective for lower back. Bit far fetched as would need a cream that would penetrate much deeper than the acne varieties but interesting concept.
