If they're going to announce some good news to push this along, they'll probably do it soon. A common strategy is to raise funds when they're expecting the share price to drop in the near future, which will be the case if there's not something to impress the market shortly. Good SGS results may actually now surprise the market to some extent, because after such a huge delay I'm sure many are sceptical after initially assuming they'd be positive and on time(I'm in that camp). It goes without saying that people are going to be suspicious if you promise something within 2-3 weeks and you then stay quiet until mid the following year!

Either way, the trend is very firmly entrenched and I'm not sure SGS results either way would break it. It's just not that big a piece of news, it wouldn't be bad enough to break the bad (and shockingly, hideously, disgustingly ugly) trend because it's bad enough already, and it's really not that big a deal so it's not like the wider market would say "Oh my god! The algae is sucking up carbon! Buy like junkie scores heroin after providing services in the back alley!"

I think in the absence of big news (genuinely big news, not just SGS results or some company buying a token amount of oil or a director spending half his lunch money on a small parcel or some other publicity stunt) it's most likely that the almost perfectly linear trend will continue down to sub 10c, and possibly to 2-5c. Unless they give us a reasonably clear idea of price of production and/or start producing/selling oil in quantity, the trend is unlikely to change. Once it gets down to a share price of 1-2c the book value will provide some support as long as they have a few assets and cash in the bank.

To anyone who doesn't think the chart is hideous/disgusting/terrible/etc., go and actually have a look at it. It's a challenge to find a worse one. You can find drastic drops pretty easily, but they don't indicate extremely high chance of further dropping. It's such a stable, long term, consistent trend. You rarely see one so stable for so long, either up or down. Without big news to save it, if it does break it's most likely to the downside. The market certainly isn't going to look at that and buy in without a big reason. If AEB has a rabbit in the hat it had better be a good one, but I can't see that being likely.

And heck no, I didn't buy any! When I say 'us', I mean everyone watching. ASX public announcements are for everyone, not just holders :)
