Im just a mug country trainer, although i have trained a sydney winner, - ive treated a horse that ended up with an infected neck - they get so sore - i would not care what a vet had to say re this - its a trainers call = you just wouldnt start especially after treatment with an antibiotic and especially after they havent eaten for a few days and if they are not putting their head down to eat they are not putting their head down to drink !!! and that is equally are bad !! It is just an unprofessional call by this top trainer - surprises me greatly! It just makes me wonder if there's 'food on the table' no matter which way a waterhouse horse runs - if it wins Gai gets the bacon and eggs; if one loses Rob and Tom put on a bigger spread! Just saying ....
